Don’t look for inspiration

In sources found online

Don’t scroll for affirmation

For worth you will not find

You should know the truth by now

And when things are not real

There is little online but

Impossible ideals

Instead look to people who

In action and in thought

Match all values that you hold

That won’t be sold or bought

It needn’t be celebrity

That shines light in your eyes

Hollow is the spotlight’s glare

It seeks to hide their lies

Likes and hearts, a quick thumbs up

Is not what means the most

Followers around the world

Don’t care how much you post

Be here! Be now! And be yourself

Be in reality!

For trading life for “virtual”

Seems oh so strange to me!
