Where Is My Heart

Where is my head, where is my heart
They have been utterly ripped apart
Right down the middle split in two
Upturned the world I thought I knew
Now reason has no temperance
And leaden feet no will to dance
There is no joy when stripped of soul
How angst runs wild without control
One needs the mind entwined with zeal
Determines what is flight from real
We need to breathe and find our center
Despairing depths we should not enter
Hope love and logic find again
A common ground, a cordial plain
I’ll wish that none shall go awry
Fuse mind with heart, not eye for eye
And spend my life in search of truce
Be thoughtful on the path I choose
Preach life of balance, thought and deed
Is all our weary conscience needs…
